What if the executor cannot find keys to the safety deposit box?

July 11th, 2018

If the executor cannot locate a key to the safety deposit box, the bank will make arrangements to have the lock drilled and the box opened. The executor must present the bank with an original death certificate and photo identification. The cost of having the box drilled will be charged to the estate.
